"In The Driving Seat"

Basic Two-Hour Sessions

This is an ideal introductory course for up to nine young people.

Your group spends the first hour undertaking basic mechanical repairs to the vehicle they will use in the second hour. This will generally be a kart though it may be an off-road buggy.

Full Day Programme (2 Sessions)

The morning programme will be similar to that described above. After lunch the group will seek to further develop on the mornings work. This may involve further mechanical work on the vehicles, some I.T. work, or even looking at a different type of vehicle.

It is sometimes possible to work with up to twelve young people on this programme.

Long Term Programmes To Suit Your Needs

Many of our clients prefer to opt for a block of sessions over a number of weeks. (eg. all day Tuesday for eight weeks or every Wednesday morning for a full term or half term). Where this is the case the group will start with an introductory session similar to those described above.

Moving on from there the group will become fully accomplished in servicing and operating smaller vehicles before progressing to working with cars and motorcycles. As well as practical skills, (driving and mechanical), participants will be involved in the use of I.T. to explore the Theory test and use of digital cameras to record their achievements.

Other topics that may be covered may involve, effects of drugs and alcohol, legal requirements, assistance applying for licences, health and safety, and so forth.

The emphasis of these sessions is very much alternative education in a relaxed "out of school atmosphere". Through this we aspire to build the confidence of the young people who attend and get them working as a team. Along with this is the obvious aim of skill development.

Prices for the above programmes are dependant on the number of young people attending.

All safety equipment is provided. Food can be arranged on request.
